Rules & Guidelines

Helpful Information

  • Registration Form: A registration form is available for all churches. Each child must register individually using a separate email address.
  • Opening Day: Saturday, May 30, 2026, Hosting church TBD.

Competitions Overview

Spiritual Books & Memorization

  • The Mahragan consists of three main competitions:
  1. Spiritual Book
  2. Memorization
  3. Hymns
  • To qualify for the Sports Competition, participants must register to take Spiritual and Memorization tests.
  • Please encourage all kids to take the Hymns test.
  • Important: please double check on the registration name and email must be corrected to ensure proper scoring and award eligibility.
  • All participants must register to participate.
  • Fees will be announced and managed by each individual church.

Test Question Preparation

  • Each church must submit 5 questions per chapter per group, with answers on the same page.
  • Do not use questions from the workbook.
  • Submission deadline: TBD.
    No late submissions will be accepted.

Written & Memorization Test Days

  • PreK – 8th Grade:
    Saturday, TBD
  • High School:
    Evening of TBD
  • Format:
    All exams will be online and timed, with designated windows for each group.

    • Test available in English only.

    • No makeup tests will be provided.

    • All scripture verses from the books may appear on the test.

    • Tests are not open books.

    • Tests must be taken in person at the church.

  • Questions may be read aloud, but no help may be provided with answering.

Test Administration Guidelines

  • Each church is responsible for local administration of tests.
  • Two (2) servants from each church will assist in overseeing the tests at other churches. A schedule will be provided at a later time.
  • Book tests will be automatically graded electronically.

Memorization Competition

  • Participants may recite in Arabic or English.
  • Every child should be encouraged to participate.
  • Two (2) evaluators will be present for each child.
  • Evaluators must use printed copies of the memorization material. ( will be provided on a latter time
  • Grading:
    • Each mistake = -1 point

    • If a child stops midway, they receive a percentage score (e.g., ½ recited = 50%)

    • Children may request to start over without penalty

  • Final grades are compiled into an Excel sheet.


Coptic Got Talent

  • Final submissions due: TBD
  • Guidelines will be sent separately.

Ceremony Day

  • Saturday, TBD
  • Location: Archangel Michael Church, Howell, NJ
  • A detailed schedule will be sent in advance.

Sports & Hymns Competitions
